October 25, 2007: The Jet Airways website, www.jetairways.com, was awarded the prestigious Genius of the Web Awards 2007 for the Best Airlines website. The awards were organized by Web 18, a part of the esteemed Network 18 group. The awards were announced on October 18th, 2007 at a glittering function at the ITC Grand Central, Mumbai. The award was received by Mr. Belson Coutinho, General Manager - eCommerce & Distribution. The best players from the world of dotcom had come together to appreciate and acknowledge the outstanding achievements in the online space.The event had amalgamation of some of the most powerful and influential names from the online world such as Mr. Shailesh Rao, MD, Google India, Mr. Anupam Mittal, Chairman, People Group, Mr. Sanjeev Bhikchandani, CEO, Info Edge, Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan, Chariman & CEO, Rediff and Mr. Neeraj Roy, CEO, Hungama.
The Web18 Genius of the Web Awards are a pioneering set of awards in multiple categories, instituted to honour outstanding industry achievements in the online space. The awards were presented on the basis of comprehensive industry research by global research leaders Frost & Sullivan.
