GIFT FOR A CHILD NAMED EXCALIBUR AWARDS FINALIST

Gift for a Child, Inc. a child advocacy and support group headquartered in Georgia has been selected by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) as a finalist in the 3rd Annual Excalibur Awards competition for "Creative use of Technology.” The Excalibur Awards recognize Georgia’s “tech-enabled” companies who demonstrate exemplary competency in utilizing technology to enhance their operations.Nominees for the Excalibur Award were judged on a variety of criteria including the scope of the problem solved, the creativity of the technology-enabled solution, return on investment and business results. The Excalibur Award finalists and winners were announced at the Oct.17 Excalibur Awards breakfast at the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel. Debora J. Wilson, president of The Weather Channel was the keynote speaker for the event.
According to Gift for a Child founding Executive Director Rene Gunn, “We are proud to be recognized for our innovative use of technology that helps the social service agencies we serve gain access and share information about children waiting to be adopted.”
“This recognition demonstrates that non-profit organizations like Gift for a Child can leverage technology to enhance how they manage their operations and improve outcomes,” said Pamela Joseph, Gift for a Child chairperson. In addition to her volunteer duties with Gift for a Child, Ms. Joseph is the chief executive officer at Atlanta-based NOVA Information Systems.
“Use of the MarketingCentral (now Unica Corporation) technology platform has helped us place actionable information into the hands of social service agencies in a way they never experienced before,” Gunn said. “We’re gratified to be counted in the same company as the other top finalists, Georgia Aquarium and Camp Sunshine.”
