RALEIGH, N.C. – Lou Jurkowski, chief executive officer of BJAC, p.a., one of the largest woman-owned design firms in the Southeast, has announced that Jennifer Amster, director of higher education projects, will speak at the AIA North Carolina 2007 Design Conference at the New Bern Convention Center in New Bern. In Amster’s presentation, titled “New Bern’s Tryon Place: Building Consensus for Success in Complex, Community-Based Projects,” she will discuss the process of revitalizing an abandoned urban riverfront site into a thriving civic center, as well as how to create a project that combines a number of complex program requirements and how to use the consensus-building approach to develop a more successful complex, community-based project.
