CHASE DEVELOPER WINS NATIONAL IMPACT AWARD FROM COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE WOMEN (CREW) NETWORK

ST. LOUIS (Oct. 20, 2007) — A national commercial real estate organization has recognized Marcia Smith Niedringhaus, Vice President and General Counsel of IFC, Inc. and a developer of The Private Residences at The Chase Park Plaza, as an extraordinary leader in commercial real estate and recipient of one of the network’s inaugural Impact Awards. The award was presented Oct. 5 at the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network’s Convention in Denver.

Smith Niedringhaus was honored for bringing together 16 CREW Network members from various disciplines to assist in the redevelopment of The Chase Park Plaza, which will transform the famed Park Plaza Tower into St. Louis’ only premier condominium project atop a four-star hotel. CREW Network members have contributed legal work, equity financing, title insurance, closing expertise, appraisal advice and more to the project.

CREW Network, a North American association of more than 6,500 professionals, is dedicated to advancing the success of women in commercial real estate.

Smith Niedringhaus has been very active in both the local CREW chapter, as well as on the national level. She has served as CREW St. Louis’ programs chair, as a member of the local chapter’s awards and scholarship committee, charity golf tournament committee and was president of the organization in 2003. She has been a member of the MUNY Opera Development Board since 2000 and currently serves as the chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Creve Coeur. She has served as a member of the leadership committee for the United Way Women’s Leadership Giving Initiative, Real Estate and Construction Industry, charged with organizing the fundraising events for potential leadership givers in the real estate and construction sectors.

She is a past president of the Marquette University Alumni Club of St. Louis, and served four years on the National Board of Directors of the Marquette University Alumni Association. She is presently serving a third year as class representative to the St. Joseph Academy Mother’s Club Board and recently accepted a position as marketing chair for the business committee for the Central West End Association. Additionally, she is a member of the Women’s Committee of Forest Park Forever and is a member of and advisor to the women business owners section of Women Connect sponsored by Midwest BankCentre. Smith Niedringhaus holds a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and a juris doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
