ORLANDO, Florida (October 19, 2007) — The Masters Conference, an educational conference staffed with well-respected and knowledgeable experts in the legal profession, announced that David Cohen will speak on the topic of e-discovery ethics during a session on Thursday, October 25th. The session will include a case study that illuminates common issues with regard to litigation holds, finding and producing potentially relevant electronic evidence, competence in handling e-discovery, and issues of privilege including mining for meta data, non-waiver agreements and proposed Federal Rules of Evidence 502. For more information on all speakers and sessions for The Masters Conference: E-Landscape and the FRCP Fallout, scheduled October 25-26, 2007, at the Ronald Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington DC, visit www.themastersconference.com. David Cohen joined K&L Gates in 1983 and is a partner in the Pittsburgh office where he co-chairs the firm’s e-Discovery Analysis & Technology (e-DAT) Group. Cohen’s commercial litigation practice concentrates in e-discovery issues, technology and intellectual property litigation, insurance coverage, and appeals. He served as an adjunct professor at Duquesne Law School in 1996 and 1997. Cohen has authored numerous legal publications and is a frequent presenter at Continuing Legal Education seminars regarding e-discovery, technology, insurance coverage, and litigation tactics.
During last year’s The Masters Conference: E-Practice in the Electronic Age, more than 200 attendees learned from industry experts as to what might happen once the new rules took effect.
This year’s Masters Conference will draw from industry experts and consultants to provide a forum of discussion that addresses the new reality. Being 'litigation-ready' now requires due diligence on the part of attorneys and litigation support directors alike.
“The Masters Conference is happy to have David Cohen presenting during our conference. Our attendees will benefit from understanding how ethics plays a key role in the E-Discovery process,” stated Lindsay Couch, Executive Conference Director, The Masters Conference.
