(Sarasota, FL.) Sarasota Season of Sculpture (SSOS) has announced the debut of “Season Four” – the Fourth Exhibition of Monumental Works of Art along Sarasota’s Bayfront. Beginning November 11, 2007 and continuing through May 26, 2008, Sarasota’s beautiful bayfront will again become a “museum without walls” as it plays host to more than two dozen large sculptures.

Artists selected for the fourth Bayfront Exhibition include roughly one third exhibitors from last year with all new work, one third from Florida, and one third from elsewhere in the United States and other countries. Several favorites from past shows will be returning including Albert Paley, Jorge Blanco, Bruce White, and Dennis Kowal, Philip Jackson and Leonardo Nierman. More than half the artists will be making their debut appearances including Jean-Francois Buisson, Jim Brenner, Gillian Christy, Jerolyn Bahm- Colombik, Jon Krawczyk, and Andrew Arvanetes. “Particularly exciting is a 70 foot tall monumental work of art by sculptor John Henry called, “Star Pointer”, said Jill Kaplan, Artistic Director and Founder of the organization. Another exciting piece is “Dance” - a grouping of twelve cars by sculptor Dustin Shuler.

The organization also announces that Publix is the Lead Sponsor, and Wilde Lexus, the Exhibition Sponsor among other sponsors for the 2007-2008 Season. “We are grateful to the many individual donors including Ulla Searing, Elaine Keating, Betty Schoenbaum, Stanley and Janet Kane, Michael Saunders and David and Myrna Band among other individuals and foundations who have helped Sarasota Season of Sculpture become one of the most important sculpture exhibitions in the United States”, said Brenda Terris, Executive Director “It was natural to extend our brand to include corporate sponsors, and we’re very proud to include Publix, Wilde Lexus and Marina Jack and Benderson Corporation among others as inaugural corporate sponsors for Season Four”.

Sarasota Season of Sculpture will kick off the exhibition on November 11, 2008, with a bayfront Brunch Gala opening. The organization will again host an International Sculpture Symposium on March 7, 8 and 9, 2008, where artists, writers and thought leaders representing the sculpture world will convene to continue the dialogue about public art. The Symposium will be funded in part by a grant from The Gulf Coast Community Foundation. Sarasota Season of Sculpture has also generously received a grant for interactive kiosks from the Roberta Leventhal Sudakoff Foundation and for marketing from the Sarasota County Arts Council.
