SAFE TEEN DRIVING CLUB GIVES PARENTS AN EIGHT STEP PLAN TO AVOID TEEN DRIVING CRASHES

Atlanta, GA –– In observance of National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 15 through 20, the Safe Teen Driving Club has provided parents with eight proactive steps they can take to safeguard and protect their young drivers.

Driving crashes are the number one cause of death among drivers 15 to 20 years of age. The Safe Teen Driving Club provides services that help parents protect their children as they begin driving. These include various driving monitors that let parents become "virtual passengers" in the vehicle, getting feedback on how their teens are driving; as well as collision avoidance training programs and items designed to promote safer driving.

According to Club President, David Shavzin, "Parents can now take advantage of services that have been proven for over a decade in commercial fleets for managing driving performance and reducing the crash rate. These give parents real peace of mind, and limit the risky driving behaviors that teens so often exhibit. But most importantly, parents can now have a clear view into their teen's driving behavior, which is vital in setting effective driving rules and guidelines."

The Safe Teen Driving Pledge, a free download at the Club's Web site, gives parents and teens a way to document family driving rules. A booklet entitled 911 FOR PARENTS, also a free download, educates parents on the top risk factors that most often lead to crashes, so they can take positive steps to avoid them.
