(NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE / OCTOBER 18, 2007) Nashville music industry veteran David Corlew has joined creative forces with High Five Entertainment’s production & development team. Corlew brings his considerable video documentary skills to High Five with plans to create & develop unique projects for CMT, GAC, The History Channel and other networks.

Corlew believes High Five Entertainment, an internationally recognized, Emmy Award-winning entertainment Production Company is the right place for him to pursue his passion, “"I'm not sure at exactly what point I decided that I wanted to make films, but I clearly remember when I realized what kind of films I wanted to make. It was the early nineties when I first saw the “THE ROAD” produced by Martin Fischer. It’s wonderfully ironic that I have found creative common ground with the very company responsible for that masterful piece." HFE President Martin Fischer adds, “I’ve known David for many years as an artist manager, music publisher, independent record label president and entertainment industry leader. The opportunity for us to explore creative endeavors together is very exciting both personally & professionally.

Corlew will work closely with HFE Production & Creative Development Executives Jo Hunt and Danny Petraitis to pursue various opportunities via new media and content delivery networks as well as traditional broadcast outlets. “David’s such an experienced and well-respected entertainment executive”, says Petraitis, “but it’s his creative passion, & determination that make this strategic partnership so promising. We’re thrilled about the possibilities.”

A multi-artist network special is already in development in conjunction with the Charlie Dainiels “Deuces” collection scheduled for release on Blue Hat Records later this month. The CD features guest performances by Brad Paisley (Jammin' For Stevie); The Del McCoury Band (Evangeline); Gretchen Wilson (Jackson); Earl, Gary and Randy Scruggs (Maggie's Farm); Bonnie Bramlett (Signed, Sealed, Delivered), Travis Tritt (What'd I Say); Dolly Parton (Daddy's Old Fiddle); Brooks & Dunn (Long Haired Country Boy); Marty Stuart (God Save Us All From Religion); Darius Rucker (Like A Rolling Stone); Brenda Lee (Let It Be Me); Vince Gill (The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down); and Montgomery Gentry (Drinkin' My Baby Goodbye). The Charlie Daniels Band opened the 45th Annual ASCAP Awards Show at the Ryman Auditorium last night with an inspired live performance of “Jackson” featuring Columbia Recording Artist Gretchen Wilson.
In 2005 David formed Corlew films. To date, the company has compiled footage from The CDB’s 2005 tour of Iraq and Southwest Asia, The CDB’s 2006 tour of Iraq and several recording sessions and interviews for Charlie Daniels upcoming duet release “Deuces”. This year Corlew as Executive Producer and B-unit Director of Photography in partnership with Read Ridley (Privateer Films) was honored when the 48 hour film project they shot, “Vingt Ampre d'Amour (20 Amps of Love)”, won for best female drama and took second place in cinematography overall in the festival.

For 34 years, David has worked with The Charlie Daniels Band, the last 19 of those years as Charlie’s personal manager. David is also the President and Co-Owner of Blue Hat Records. He will continue to work in both capacities. Founded in 1997 and now in its 10th year, Blue Hat Records has released 18 albums and two DVD Projects. In 1998, David won a Grammy Award as Compilation Producer for Amazing Grace Vol. II (A Country Salute to Gospel) a Sparrow/EMI release.
