One special feature in the exhibit is an original painting that captures the infamous Super Bowl sixteen featuring the Cincinnati Bengals and San Franciso 49ers—where a football star, Joe Montana, was born. Neiman is able to capture amazing movement in this composition as the Bengals ferociously cross the line of scrimmage in attempts to stop “Sweet 16,” Montana, as he extends his right arm back to complete another phenomenal pass. Only Neiman could paint this scene in a way that shows the importance of the player that was to become a legend in the years to follow.

Best known for his brilliantly colored, stunningly energetic images of sporting events and leisure activities, LeRoy Neiman is probably the most popular living artist in the United States. In addition to being a masterful sports artist Neiman has an exquisite collection of animal portraits, Safari scenes, celebrity portraits, and whimsical depictions of famous locations. Neiman also gained wide recognition as contributing artist for Playboy, in the 1950’s for his shapely cartoon figures Femmy and Femlin. Neiman’s artwork is in many prominent museums and private collections around the globe from Russia to the United States. He has earned many highly regarded awards and honors for his achievements in the field of art. Today, Neiman lives in NYC with his wife Janet and still works in his studio creating masterpieces to be recorded in the history of American masters. Neiman is just turned 86 years old and his popularity and wide appeal are stronger than ever!
