Rochester, NY, October 16, 2007 – OneStream Networks, a leading national end-to-end managed IP services provider, today announced a multi-year outsourced network, hardware and VoIP services contract with an international manufacturer and supplier based in New Jersey. OneStream becomes the single-source provider of the customer’s global communications infrastructure and services, including one of the larger hosted VoIP deployments in the country. At the heart of the convergence project is OneStream’s Smart Business Solutions portfolio, a comprehensive suite of on-demand IP applications and outsourced VoIP telephony services delivered and managed via OneStream’s private global Quality of Service (QoS)-enabled MPLS IP network and complemented by LAN, security and disaster planning expertise. Smart Business Solutions will be deployed in multiple phases starting with the design and deployment of new Cisco LAN infrastructure, followed by installation of a global private IP data network, and then by deployment of OneStream’s hosted VoIP communications supporting over 1,000 employees.
Struggling with disparate voice and data networks, high operating costs, aging and isolated telephone and voicemail systems, limited IT staff and tight budgets, the manufacturer was looking for the right partnership and solution to help create an easily managed, seamlessly connected enterprise.
After evaluating multiple premise-based systems, the manufacturer became concerned about the high initial investment required and worried that they would have to make difficult choices between features and reliability. “After analyzing our business requirements, OneStream Networks presented a unique outsourced communications solution that combines all the benefits of a next-generation Voice over IP system with the control and security of a global, converged private IP data network.” said the company’s IT Manager. “The solution was complemented by a comprehensive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis that helped us build a strong financial ROI based on a projected 42% reduction in operating expenses. The end result is a cost-justified solution that simplifies management, improves employee productivity, increases network performance and reduces costs.”
The OneStream Networks converged private IP data network solution will become the global foundation upon which the manufacturer migrates to a fully managed, multi-service private IP communications backbone. Functions and benefits of the data network include:
• Next-generation Private IP Data Network
The OneStream managed MPLS-based global IP data network eliminates costly Frame Relay, point-to-point T1 data networks and legacy voice circuits, providing greater efficiency, security, performance and scalability.
• Consolidated Services
Local, long distance, video, data and Internet are dynamically routed over the Class of Service (COS)-based IP backbone ensuring toll-grade voice quality and guaranteed data performance delivered over fully managed circuits.
• Managed LAN Infrastructure
OneStream Professional Services to design, deploy and manage all new high-performance Cisco LAN/WAN infrastructures to properly support data and Voice over IP convergence.
• 24/7 Active Management
Proactive network and systems management ensures the highest level of responsiveness to network issues and required adds/changes.
The OneStream Networks managed VoIP solution will boost the company’s productivity by enabling employees to interact with customers more efficiently and communicate among themselves seamlessly throughout the company’s 10 global offices and multiple home-based employees with advanced multimedia features and applications including:
• Cisco IP Phones and Converged Desktop
Cisco IP phones provide a traditional calling experience, while the end-user Web Portal adds productivity-boosting customized call control, conference management, visual voicemail, call logs, and phone feature management.
• Unified Messaging
Integrated with Microsoft Outlook, voicemails are delivered to email inboxes and can be saved or forwarded just like any other email.
• Find Me/Follow Me and Presence Call Control
Users can implement advanced call routing based on day, time or availability. Calls can route to voicemail, cell phones or any other phone worldwide.
• Microsoft Outlook Integration
Integration with Microsoft Outlook allows users to access call controls, directories and call logs via Microsoft Outlook.
• Collaboration
Video conferencing, desktop sharing and remote management connect users worldwide and improve customer service levels.
• Automatic Call Distribution (ACD)
Call Center calls can be queued and distributed globally based on agent skillsets for efficient call handling and improved customer satisfaction. Real-time call center statistics, agent performance and traffic reports, customized on-hold music and messages, and web-based tools boost productivity.
“This global deployment is further evidence that the demand for outsourced IT communications solutions, also called Communications as a Service (CaaS), continues to accelerate” comments Brian Skidmore, EVP for OneStream. “Successful companies are embracing IP and VoIP technologies to spur growth and reduce costs, but are doing so in partnership with managed service providers like OneStream Networks. These partnerships ensure successful integration, technical flexibility and unparalleled support while reducing costs associated with technical personnel, equipment and on-going maintenance. The result is improved productivity, reduced costs, and, ultimately, improved competitive advantage.”
