Kouroupis Art, Koutouloufari, Crete Greece, have announced that Sklavenitis bronze sculptures are now available from their on line shop. These bronzes are made in Greece using the original Sklavenitis designs and moulds and compliment the ranges of Greek and Cretan made ceramics already available for purchase on line. The sculptures depict various Greek gods and other characters from Greek mythology, with a modern twist, using traditional sand moulding techniques with hand finishing.Kouroupis opened at its’ current premises in 1997, to promote Greek and where possible, Cretan made ceramics, to visitors to Crete. Many of the designs are completely original and are hand made and finished. The Kouroupis web site went live in August 2006, and was designed to be a gallery depicting the sort of items that visitors to the shop would find there.
‘‘We always ran a small telephone/mail order department for previous customers who wanted to add to their collection or to buy items as gifts for friends and relatives’’ says owner/founder Manolis Anastasakis, ‘’and, of course, on many occasions we offered a packing and shipping service for visitors who had exceeded their baggage allowances, sending their purchases direct to their home addresses.”
“With customers coming from as far away as Hawaii and Japan,” he says, “the addition of on line shopping on selected products was a logical progression for our web site, and brings Greek art and ceramics to a worldwide customer base rather than our traditional European ‘home’ market. Using standard shipping services we can deliver to most of Europe within 7 days, and to the USA within 14 days, and with our choice of PayPal, one of the best known names on the Internet, handling our credit card payments, our customers can be sure of a safe, secure transaction.”
You can visit the web site and shop on line all year round. Personal visitors will find the shop in Koutouloufari open daily during the summer season (April to October) with limited opening during the winter months.
