‘WORLD PREMIER’ VIDEO, MAJOR CHRISTIAN MUSIC AWARD HONORS HIGHLIGHT OCTOBER FOR CANADA’S CHRISTINE EVANS

Nashville, Tennessee –October 14, 2007 – That Canada’s Christine Evans is undeniably one of the most exciting new young artists in contemporary Christian music is a buzz that’s had no problems with border crossings.

The U.S. is rapidly catching on to the 17 year old gifted singer/songwriter who is currently nominated in four categories—including Female Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, in Canada’s prestigious Gospel Music Covenant Awards—the country’s top honor in Christian music.

Immediate on media radar in the U.S. is Christine’s debut this weekend as the Gospel Music Channel’s ‘world premier video’ with her high concept Don’t Laugh At Me video being aired for the first time on television this Saturday (13th) at 7:00 P.M. Eastern time in the more than 100 national markets now served by the Atlanta based GMC network.

The video was shot as part of a national campaign for the New York based Operation Respect, for which Christine serves as a major spokesperson. Herself a high school student, she has become a passionate voice for Operation Respect in their mission to promote academic, social, and emotional development for children in an atmosphere free of bullying, ridicule and violence such as that seen increasingly at grade school through college levels.

Noted Christine in a recent interview in New York while taping a television special for PBS: “We hope the Don’t Laugh At Me” video will dramatically increase awareness of the cycle of pain bullying can evoke in kids' lives. Ideally, I hope to encourage my generation towards a healthy, violence free social consciousness.”

Next on Christine’s major agenda will be the Covenant Award honors to be announced in Calgary, Alberta on October 26th by the Gospel Music Association of Canada Serving as a presenter, the young singer whose latest single Surrender is currently Top 5 on AC Christian radio charts in Canada, is herself nominated for top honors in four major categories including Female Vocalist of the Year, and Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year for her self-written hit, Gloria. Her nominations also include Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year, for her current album Push, and Video of the Year for her Push video release.

Readers of CCM Magazine, contemporary Christian’s flagship consumer music publication in the U.S. will also notice Christine Evans’ name has recently turned up on their ballot as Independent Artist of the Year in their annual Reader’s Choice Awards.
