October 12, 2007, Chicago, IL ITRA, the International Tenant Representative Alliance, announced today that it will hold its Worldwide Fall General Conference in San Francisco at the San Francisco Hilton, Financial District October 26th through the 28th.The corporate real estate keynote speaker, Mr. Gary Jay Saulson, Director of Real Estate, PNC Financial Services Group, will present the innovative strategic plan of his firm for leasing and acquiring office space in “green” buildings, entitled, “Making the Business Case for Green Buildings”. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, ITRA is the largest tenant representation organization in the world, with offices in over 65 major markets in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim. ITRA holds unique appeal for corporate clients as its affiliates do not represent the professional landlord. ITRA offers traditional services such as leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, supplemented by special assistance in state and local incentives, lease auditing, lease management, local analysis, project management, strategic planning, space planning and more. With its global reach, ITRA provides its corporate clients a valuable dual focus - a macrocosmic understanding of global real estate trends, together with a microcosmic expertise in local markets.
For fifteen years, ITRA has been negotiating on behalf of tenants and users of corporate space, exclusively looking out for their best interests. During the company’s upcoming 15th Anniversary Conference, which will focus on green buildings, the major topic will be a very special type of “property owner”. The “Landlord” is the Earth, and the discussion will center on novel ways of looking at the tenant–owner relationship with regard to environmentally friendly office building technology.
“We’ve always had an environmental interest, but it’s refreshing to see that our clients are now beginning to share our passion,” says ITRA’s Chairman, Ronald R. Pollina, PhD. "What we’re looking to explore is how we can match green properties with clients who hold similar interests.”
Dr. Pollina is understandably excited about the ecological and fiscal implications. “Supporting ‘green’ technology offers another dimension to the concept of being a responsible tenant,” he adds. “It is in everyone's best interest to take responsibility for sustaining the environment. As an organization that represents tenants, ITRA urges landlords to develop green buildings. Ultimately, it’s going to be mutually beneficial, because environmentally responsible landlords and tenants will in turn make property values go up.” For more information about ITRA and its 15th Anniversary Conference, contact ITRA’s Administrative Offices at 888.925.4872 or email at itra@itraglobal.com.
