Competitors in the upcoming “Uplifting Minds II“ Entertainment Conference's talent competition showcase, presented by Boosweet Records, will have a chance to win a music video, radio air-time, recording studio time, free legal advice and much more. The conference, during the weekend of October 20-21, is held at the Four-Point Sheraton at LAX (on Airport Blvd.). Deadline to compete in the showcase (music/vocals,song writing and dance) hosted by L.A.'s KDAY 93.5 approaches.On Saturday, October 20th, the "Uplifting Minds II" seminars are held from 1 - 7pm, topics include "entertainment law tips, by Richard Jefferson, Esq.; "various jobs in television," by television producer Chris Denson; "marketing to the world with little to no budget," by film producer/director Tim Greene, and "promotions and public relations/media strategies" by promotions director of The Baltimore Times and president of Freelance Associates a PR and Promotions firm.
Sunday, October 21st, from 1-3 p.m. the talent competition is held and hosted by KDAY home of the #1 evening jocks in L.A., the talent competition will showcase acts from across the country. Previous competitors, as a result of performing in ULMII, have gone on to sign to Def Jam Records; wrote/produced a platinum song for R&B group Dru Hill; performed on Broadway, and performed as opening act for such majors as LL Cool J, India.Arie, Faith Evans and Angie Stone.
The "Uplifting Minds II" entertainment conference has been showcasing, educating and developing talent for eights years in Baltimore, Houston, Atlanta and Los Angeles. The two day conference is currently held twice annually in Baltimore (April and August) and three times in Los Angeles (February, June and October). The conference, targeted to the up-and-coming artists, producers and executives, cost just $50 per person and includes both days, with all net proceeds donated to Pollution and Recycling Control Center in Baltimore.
