Friday Night Football Lives, when the Bowie Volunteers host the Vikings of Lamar High at UTA Maverick Stadium & the Martin Warriors host the Colts of Arlington High at Cravens Field on Friday October 5th, both games start @ 7:30pm. These games are easily the most anticipated District 8-5A match-ups between Arlington schools in some time. Surrounded by long tradition and state-wide acclaimed, these football teams have some of the most distinguished programs in North Texas. These teams have a combined 2007 record of 12-4, with the areas #3 ranked Bowie Vols (4-0) & #16 ranked Martin Warriors (4-0) leading the way. Having graduated numerous players who have gone on to compete at college and NFL levels, these teams draw a large audience watching and anticipating who will become the next Ryan Palmer or Reggie Harrell.
