Says Prof. Acharya, “Our alumni are playing and shall continue to play a very important role in projecting the image of this Institute to the outside world. More specifically, I appreciate our alumni contributing intellectually to the institute’s growth. We shall create avenues, establish facilities so that alumni can contribute to the education, research, and outreach efforts of IIT KGP. Simply sharing their experiences and views with the students will go a long way in inspiring our students to become better engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs and professionals. I call upon the alumni either under the banner of the TAA or IIT Foundation could create a knowledge-web, that besides creating an opportunity for the alumni, could be used by existing students, present and former faculty to interact and exchange views”
According to Dr.Sridhar Mitta, an eminent entrepreneur and technology expert, “For the entrepreneurs, this would be extremely helpful as they right now have limited avenues to get candid inputs and advice on their ideas and ventures. Besides, the fellowship of the Institute makes it more conducive for such inputs to be given and taken in the same spirit. I am happy and honored to be part of the panel.”
According to Prof. Parameshwar Iyer, Honorary President of the Bangalore Chapter “Today there are a lot more KGPians bubbling with new ideas or piloting their new ventures. All they need is the right platform, the right advice and help. This high quality panel with seasoned entrepreneurs and mentors will do just that. The offer of angel investment makes it all the more tangible and exciting for those who are presenting. It is also an honor that we have the new Director of IIT-Kharagpur joining us for the event. We are happy to play our role in acting as a catalyst to the growing number of entrepreneurs among KGPians and we will be doubly happy if their ideas and ventures take better shape due to this interaction.
