You’ll Be Too Scared To Scream!

October 02, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
West Haven, CT – You’ll be too scared to scream at Fright Haven, three haunted houses of horror under one roof, from October 4 through November 4 in West Haven, CT. Proceeds from Connecticut’s newest and greatest haunted attraction will benefit March of Dimes and MADD (Mother’s Against Drunk Driving).

Fright Haven is located in the former Staples building at 480 Saw Mill Road in West Haven, off Exit 42 of I-95.

Fright Haven evolved from the scary annual Halloween hauntings created by Mark Kirschner and his sons at their own residence in Branford. For the past dozen years Dr. Kirschner, a psychologist, and his sons Seth, a 15-year-old Branford High School student, and Eric, a 13-year-old at Walsh Intermediate School, have seen their annual haunted property gain increasing acclaim and grow significantly larger and more sophisticated, so moving to a larger location was inevitable.

“Halloween hauntings are just good clean fun,” says Dr. Kirschner. “No one gets hurt. Scaring people is playing on their fears of the unknown, but the reality is that there is nothing to actually be afraid of.”

Dr. Kirschner notes that hauntings appeal to all ages. However, Fright Haven is a gory, no-holds-barred event meant to scare. There are no age restrictions, but parents should be certain that their child is mature enough to handle the intensity of the experience. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Fright Haven’s website warns: “Due to the intensity and fear factor of Fright Haven, those with weak hearts, health conditions, young children and pregnant women are advised that you may enter under your own risk. Fright Haven is not responsible for your future nightmares. For your own well-being, do not visit Fright Haven alone. Be sure that you are accompanied by friends, family and those you trust to keep you safe from the evils and the unknown contained within the haunted walls of this attraction.”

3 Haunted Attractions Under 1 Roof

The three haunted houses, offering 25,000 square feet of indoor terror, are Dead End Manor, Frightmare Fear Institute: Achluophobia, and Carnival of Evil in 3-D.

Dead End Manor is a seemingly deserted Victorian mansion infested with cannibalistic vampires, creatures not dead but not alive, all looking to add you to the collective commune of drinking blood.

Frightmare Fear Institute: Achluophobia is a devious little…experiment. Psychiatrists call a fear of the dark achluophobia. People aren’t actually afraid of the dark; they’re afraid of what might be in the dark. In Fright Haven’s experiment visitors come face-to-face with the “Frightmare Pit” in which their worst fears are realized…not through anything created by Fright Haven, but by their own imaginations. Just keep telling yourself it’s all in your mind.

Carnival of Evil in 3-D is a three-dimensional tribute of terror to Savin Rock Park, Palisades Park, Freedomland, Paragon Park and all the legendary amusement parks that are no more. This attraction takes advantage of people’s fear of…clowns. Yes, for some reason, people are afraid of clowns. Clowns that have moved away from their long-gone amusement parks, or have passed away, or were locked away all return for the terrifying Carnival of Evil.

Additional information and histories of the three attractions and their ghouls is available online at www.frighthaven.com.
