Local musician/writer to release children’s fable: From the mind that has brought you such stories as ‘The Last Vampyr’ and ‘King Of Terror’ comes the children’s tale The Pumpkin King

Local punk legend/horror author Mark Dickinson is scheduled to release his latest creation, a children‘s book, based on his poem, ‘The Pumpkin King’ on October 23, 2007. Mark will be on hand from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for book signing and sales at the Vestal, N.Y. Barnes & Noble local author’s showcase October 23rd as well. The Pumpkin King is a thought provoking illustrated fable that teaches an important lesson that should last a lifetime. This story is sure to become a family favorite.

Mr. Dickinson was inspired to write ‘The Pumpkin King’ out of the dilemma that he didn’t celebrate Christmas and he didn’t want his children to feel left out during the holiday season. ‘The Pumpkin King’ was born out of the belief that every good deed returns another. The moral of the story is “The more you give the more you get.” and Mark felt that this would be a good lesson to share not only with his children but with all children.

Mr. Dickinson was fortunate enough to collaborate with another local artist Christopher Urban to create page after page of beautiful landscapes and vivid imagery which lend their hand in bringing the story to life.
