LOS ANGELES – As summer fades and the travel industry enters prime winter travel-booking season, the editors of VacationHomes.com and Vamoose.com, two of the most popular vacation rental websites on the Internet, have assembled their list of the Top 10 Holiday Vacation Home Destinations to gauge where winter travelers will be spending the holiday season.

The list results from an analysis of website traffic, property inquiries, and hundreds of thousands of page views on VacationHomes.com and Vamoose.com. Since many families travel with children over the holidays, many elect to stay in a vacation home rather than a hotel due to extended vacations and the desire for a home-style atmosphere and full kitchen amenities during the holidays.

"This year's list contains some of the expected big-name winter resorts, but we’re seeing more vacationers taking a look at the off-the-beaten-path destinations," said John McGanty, general manager of the travel division at Internet Brands, Inc., the parent company of VacationHomes.com and Vamoose.com. "This continues an overall trend we've been seeing throughout the year toward slower-paced, more leisurely family trips that are still affordable."
