LEHMAN, LEE & XU Foreign Legal Counsel, Ryan Beers, attends welcome dinner for new Australian Ambassador to China

Shenzhen, China ¨- Foreign Legal Counsel in LEHMAN, LEE & XU¡¯s Shenzhen office, Ryan Beers, attended a welcome dinner for the new Australian Ambassador to China, Dr Geoff Raby. The event was organized by the Australian Chamber of Commerce South China, and held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Shenzhen, on August 14, 2007.

Dr Raby is one of Australia¡¯s highest ranking diplomats. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, Dr Raby served as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, a position equivalent to a Vice-Minister in the Chinese system. As Deputy Secretary, Dr Raby's responsibilities included being the lead negotiator on WTO matters, heading the China Free Trade Agreement Taskforce and leading Australia¡¯s bilateral relationships with the whole of North Asia.

Ryan said his address to the many Australian company representatives and professionals at the event was informative, entertaining and very well received, and LEHMAN, LEE & XU wishes Dr Raby the best of luck throughout his tenure in Beijing, China.
