Spark Capital forays into institutional brokerage, launches securities division

Chennai, September 27, 2007: Spark Capital Advisors, a south-based investment bank, today announced its foray into institutional brokerage. Spark Capital has, since its inception, advised on fund raising and M&A transactions worth over USD 1 billion in aggregate. Having obtained its Category I Merchant Banking License and having kicked-off its Investment Management practice earlier this year, the company has recently launched its securities division, to provide research backed insights and recommendations exclusively to institutional investors & funds.

Spark’s foray into institutional brokerage marks yet another milestone, as it would be the first south-based firm to offer full-service investment banking, encompassing Corporate Advisory, Merchant Banking, Securities Broking and Investment Management, all under one brand. Spark will leverage on its strong investment banking background to provide equity broking services, in both cash and derivatives segment.
By focussing on the hitherto under-covered section of South-based, Mid-cap companies that are part of the Outsourcing, Infrastructure and Domestic Consumption themes, Spark Capital seeks to offer institutional investors a plethora of new early picking opportunities and enable them reap rich rewards in the medium to long term.
