Set against the events surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, the Xlibris release Pilgrim Souls: a Search for Peace amidst Conflict, by Rene Reid, is a fictional love story between two people caught in the midst of personal conflict and national tragedy.California Attorney General Kyle Anderson and his partner, Jenny Roberts, are in love with each other but struggle to find common ground in their view of their relationship. The tension brought by 9/11 adds drama to their story.
Unfolding alongside this romance is Pilgrim Souls’ political arc that focuses on the efforts of Kyle and his brother, Josh – a staff member in the office of the US Secretary of State – as they formulate a new diplomatic foreign policy, which would pave the way for a more peaceful approach to international relations.
Bestselling author Rene Reid parallels the political condition of America and the country’s search for answers to a war deemed meaningless, with Kyle and Jenny’s attempt to work through their self-created conflict. Pilgrim Souls describes how the September 11 attacks affected individual lives and changed the course of a nation forever.
Reid also points out the importance of understanding both sides of the conflict as the key factor in reconciliation. Whether the issue is healing the grievances between countries or the fall-out between individuals, the author proposes that the options are the same.
The combination of Pilgrim Souls’ fictional love story and historical reality makes it a must read for political buffs, romance readers, and all book lovers.
Pilgrim Souls is available at Xlibris.com and at www.renereid.com, where you can also find more information on the book.
