(Pasadena, CA)—After 25 years of providing education in Los Angeles County, Hillsides Education Center (HEC) is proud to stand strong on its own merit, separate from its identity with Hillsides, a foster care children’s charity in Pasadena. Showcasing the programs and services it offers, HEC is launching www.HillsidesEducationCenter.org. A nonpublic and private school founded in 1982, HEC meets the needs of children who require a special education environment in which to flourish. Teaching is accomplished in small group instruction and one-on-one tutorial programs. Each classroom accommodates up to 12 students supervised by a special education credentialed teacher and two teaching assistants.
Visitors to the website can read information about HEC, school districts which refer students to the campus, parent testimonials, curriculum, and much more. The HEC staff is most proud of the student section that allows students with severe emotional disturbances and learning disabilities to learn about the Internet and the website maintenance.
Using a hands-on approach to learning, students can upload poetry, artwork, homework accomplishments and student council information, as well as events for others to see.
“Having students take ownership of the student section on our website provides them with a sense of accomplishment, increased confidence, and opportunities to experience academic successes,” said Hillsides Education Center director Jay Bechtol.
Behind the scenes of this launch is CIS One, HEC’s website developer based in Pasadena. CIS One delivers comprehensive software products that help large and small enterprises increase business revenue, reduce long-term technology expenses, and improve daily operations. By using a combination of robust web-based and wireless information management technologies and adherence to superior business practices, the company’s products bridge the information gap between customer and client.
“We are truly excited to launch a website that provides visitors an overview of our campus and academic institution. We encourage you to visit us online and refer others to our website,” said John Hitchcock, Hillsides executive director.
