MAYOR'S WIFE HEADS NEW IMAGE WRITER'S BUS TOUR

Los Angeles, CA—Martha Tucker, the wife of the late Mayor of Compton, and author of The Mayor’s Wife Wore Sapphires, will host the California New Image Writer’s Bus Tour. The authors will show a broader view of the many negative images in the populate media. The tour will start in Los Angeles and spread across 17 key cities in the next four months. Community support is requested.

On October 12, 13, 14, 2007, the New Image authors will take the seldom seen positive African American images into the marketplace where they will shine. Locations include the following: October—Los Angeles, Carson, Watts, Culver City, Inglewood; November—San Fernando Valley, Bakersfield; December—West Los Angeles Boutique consisting of readers and buyers from all organizations nationally; and January—San Diego, Riverside; February—San Francisco, Oakland

The bus will leave from 4-Point Sheraton, Culver City, on October 12, 8 a.m. “Those wishing to support the image change are invited to the historical launch,” Tucker said.

New Image Authors are as follows: Martha Tucker—The Mayor’s Wife Wore Sapphires—She believes that a better image will heal cities and save children.

Pamela Samuels-Young—In Firm Pursuit—This practicing attorney wrote a compelling legal thriller. She is an Essence Magazine Bestseller.

Corlis Martin—The Expressions of Love from the Heart and Soul of Corlis—“I agree with Martha Tucker that ‘what we see is what we be-come.’” She will share touching poetry.

Sheila Spencer—These Precious Hands and Crown of Splendor— a teacher whose two poems are included in Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul. She will also share her spiritual CD—He is a Lyrical Miracle.

Mary Wilrige—Build That Woman Up! —Admonish men to build up the mother of their children, the leaders of his community. This is a spiritual leadership book.

Anjuelle Floyd—Keeper of Secrets—Literary, Experimental. A psychologist who has beautifully written a never-forget read.

Staci Robinson—Interceptions—this educator wrote of a UCLA Law School hopeful who puts her football star boyfriend’s career ahead of her own. What else is she willing to sacrifice in her search for true love?
