Kathy McDaniel Named Kitchen Operations Manager For The Magical Kitchen™

Simi Valley, CA (September 26, 2007) – The Magical Kitchen™ is pleased to announce Kathy McDaniel has been named Kitchen Operations Manager. In this role, Ms. McDaniel is responsible for the flow of operations in the kitchen; including scheduling and managing all employees, training kitchen staff, food ordering, inventory management for food and supplies, preparation of food an equipment for all classes and events, and supervising the overall upkeep and appearance of The Magical Kitchen’s two Viking® Professional kitchens. “We are thrilled to have Kathy on board. She is a great addition to our team,” said Lisa Eidman, owner of The Magical Kitchen.

Ms. McDaniel’s is a Certified Personal Chef and a member of the United States Personal Chef Association. She is a culinary school graduate and has worked with the Food Network on a number of shows featuring world renowned chefs, such as Wolfgang Puck and Bobby Flay.

In other announcements – Wendy Maher has been promoted to Assistant Manager for Special Events and Internal Communication. Ms. Maher’s previous experience includes stints as the Catering Director for Sodexho at Amgen, Food and Beverage Manager at the Hyatt in Westlake Village, and Restaurant Manager for Locanda del Lago in Santa Monica. Maher’s responsibilities include coordinating all private parties and special events; developing internal communication materials for staff; and developing policies and procedures. “Wendy will ensure that our employees are well informed and that we are well prepared for private parties and other store events,” said Eidman.

Debra Deluhunty has been promoted to Senior Sales Associate. In her new role, Ms. Deluhunty assumes the retail sales lead and serves as the on-site product expert. In addition, she will assist with training new employees.

Ms. Deluhunty has an extensive background in the food and retail industries;
having held management positions at Jack in the Box, Tale of the Pup, 7-11, and Robinson’s department store. “This is a well deserved promotion for Debra,” said Eidman. Her sales and retail experience are invaluable.”

The Magical Kitchen is located in the Sycamore Plaza at 2792 Cochran Street, Simi Valley, California. Store hours are Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. However, the store will remain open during any special events or cooking classes, which are scheduled for several evenings throughout the week from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
