OH DESIGN MAKES AN EXHIBITION…

Falmouth based 3D design company oh design is celebrating its second year in business with a major collaboration with the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro. The founder of the company Oliver Hatfield worked closely with the Museum on the new Once upon a Story- The Magic of Michael Foreman exhibition which showcases the famous local illustrator’s artwork.

The exhibition is made up of a number of ‘pods’ each housing artwork from Mr Foreman’s popular books and oh design created the ‘pods’ and interactive elements to engage the young visitors. Oliver explained “Both myself and the museum felt that that the interactive units should be educational but fun.” oh design took the ideas from some of Foreman’s best loved books and along with RCM staff helped make his fictional tales a physical reality. “We have taken our lead from the themes of the books and through the design promoted recycling, energy-saving and seaside safety by incorporating; sights, sounds, textures and even a real life bath! says Oliver.

Specialising in bespoke retail display, signage and exhibition design, oh design has been kept busy since its inception in 2006. Oliver, who obtained a first class honours degree in 3D Design for Sustainability from University College Falmouth, has worked with a number of Southwest companies on exciting projects. These have included interactive exhibitions for The Core building at Eden and retail display stands for Stranger magazine.

The new exhibition came as a welcomed challenge for Oliver, “The Royal Cornwall Museum has been a fantastic client to work with and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed creating something of this scale that the public can come and enjoy.”

With a number of other projects in pipeline and a new website just launched, www.oh-design.co.uk, oh design is enjoying a very eventful second year!
