September 30, 2007 - Since 24th of September 2007 UK and Ireland mobile users have access to new SMS based multiplayer game. New SMS-game is available to fight boredom during the bus or train ride. All that is needed to participate, is regular mobile phone capable of sending and receiving SMS-messages.

The game SMS-Pirates is a violent struggle for fame and treasure. Only the fastest, strongest and smartest will stand the strain of the competition.

Each player becomes a pirate captain, who has a fast sailing ship and tough crew in his command. The commands can be sent by ordinary SMS messages.

The main challenge for the player is to win the other players, who confront them on the sea with their crews. As a result of each battle, a bunch of pirates leave the loser's crew and join the winner's one. The more sailors a captain has under his command, the more infamous and fared he is. The stronger the crew, the more perilous enemies can the captain face, and therefore, winning another battle, his crew may still rapidly grow.

The best pirates can win awards like iPod Shuffle, PC game Sid Meier's Pirates etc.

The game is run by Don't Panic Media Ltd. The company is planning to release more SMS games and rent out the gaming platform for those interested in creating their own sms-games in the beginning of 2008.

To start the game, player needs to send a text message "PT START [Pirate name" to the number 81025. The price of a text message is £0.25 plus standard network charge.
