50 Workers On-Site At 7th Street Casino

Kansas City, Kansas– September 21, 2007 – Construction and renovations for Wyandotte Nation’s 7th Street Casino is currently 85% complete. The project’s total cost will exceed 20 million dollars.

"Area casinos will have their hands full once the doors open here," Tad Johnson said, "The attention to detail and the overall effort that went into making this a reality will turn some heads."

The contractor for the project is Crossland Construction, with headquarters in Columbus, KS and regional offices in Rogers, AR, Tulsa, OK and Prosper, TX. is the contractor for the project. The company was involved in the construction of Wyandotte Nation Casino in Wyandotte, OK.

Fifty on-site workers are renovating the building to solidify its already existing attributes and structural integrity. In utilizing a wide variety of materials including metal studs, plaster and sheetrock, Crossland Construction is able to keep the costs well within the budget while preserving one of the city’s most recognizable structures.

“We have been working with the city officials to ensure that the building will blend into the downtown environment,” said Tad Johnson from Crossland Construction, “ the additions that have been added on to bring the building within code were constructed to look like the existing historic building.”

The casino will increase traffic flow bringing many people from outside the area to discover what downtown Kansas City, KS has to offer.

7th Street Casino is located at 803 North 7th Street, at the intersection of 7th Street
(State Hwy 69) and Ann Avenue in downtown Kansas City, KS. The 24 hour
casino will house over 400 state-of-the-art slot machines in over 20,000 square feet of gaming space.
