September 21th, 2007 – Ebony-Weddings.com, the website that caters to brides of color, will feature the distinctive designs of Therez Fleetwood during its “Ultimate African-American Bridal Show Experience” fashion event to be held September 30th, from 12 p.m. -4:30 p.m. at the Hilton Hasbrouck Heights in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. Fleetwood’s creations are an intriguing mix of exoticism, romance and modernity and have earned her admirers from across the globe in countries such as Germany, Egypt, Italy, Tanzania and Australia. “We are very excited to have Therez as the featured designer for this event,” says Ebony-Weddings.com co-founder Sonya Harris-Jones “Since the show is geared towards multi-cultural brides, it was only natural to have a designer whose work has an ethnic flair, but at the same time, can be worn by all brides.” Fleetwod’s unique, sexy and daring motifs appeal to women opting to make a personal statement on their special day.

Ebony-Weddings.com was created by husband-and-wife team Sonya Harris-Jones and Oscar L. Jones, whose 2005 nuptials were preceded by frustration over the lack of available matrimonial resources that spoke specifically to their African-American identity. After making contacts and exchanging ideas with various vendors, the Jones’ launched Ebony-Weddings.com in 2006. With planning tips and a directory of services including photographers, reception locations, florists, catering and much more, the site assists clients while promoting black-owned businesses at the same. Therez Fleetwood's bridal designs have been featured in the “New York Gets Married” and “Black Style Now” exhibits at the Museum of the City, as well as the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, where she designed an original wedding gown to support fund-raising efforts for “The Lost Boys of the Sudan” initiative. She’s also had pieces at the Black Fashion Museum, located at her alma mater, the Fashion Institute of Technology. InStyle Weddings, Brides Noir, Wedding Dresses and the Knot have all featured Therez Fleetwood designs and her television appearances include the Today Show, Good Day New York and BET Nightly News.
