AnaSpec Introduces New Anti-LC Antibodies

September 21, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
September 21, 2007 – San Jose, CA - Continuing in its efforts to grow its antibody product line, AnaSpec has introduced its newest collection of Anti-LC antibodies that can be used as autophagosome markers.
The mammalian microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 (LC3) is a homolog of the yeast Atg8, a protein that plays a major role in autophagy. LC3 is a fibronectin mRNA-binding protein linked to mRNA translation. MAP1-LC3A, -B, & -C are the three human isoforms of MAP1-LC3 which have been cloned and characterized. These differ in their post-translation modification. MAP-LC3 proteins are related to cell growth, differentiation and migration in development and in diseases. AnaSpec’s anti-LC antibodies were referenced in an article by W. Jackson, et al.3 We are pleased to announce the availability of anti-LC3B, as well as anti-LC3A (which does not cross-react with LC3B) and anti-LC3 A/B (which recognizes both A and B isoforms).
