HOUSTON, TEXAS (June 18, 2005) — In a continuing effort to impact the culture, EvangelismTickets.com announced that event-goers can now register on-line to request free tickets for unchurched friends and neighbors to attend Christian events and activities. "This is a significant new step to help sponsors of ETickets connect with users of ETickets", said Justin Smith, President and CEO of the company who launched the 'Evangelism Tickets' Strategy late in 2004.
"The strategy is a simple one", he says. "Buy a ticket for an unchurched friend to attend a Christian event for free. It is a form of outreach that works for any workshop, seminar, conference, retreat, golf tournament, concert, pageant, theatrical performance, mission trip, banquet, youth camp or outing — any event requiring an admission to attend.”
Smith believes that most successful evangelism is relationship-based and is best initiated and administered at the local level by churches and faith-based organizations. "Further", he states, "attending quality events is the most non-threatening introduction to a church family or local ministry."
In 2004, the Christian community collectively promoted the opportunity for outreach by purchasing tickets and providing complimentary access to Mel Gibson's, The Passion of The Christ. It seemed to prove that Christians would provide complimentary admissions to an event they believed in. Smith claims that this opportunity need not end with one movie.
"Millions of events, including concerts, festivals retreats, mission trips, camps, seminars, workshops, golf tournaments and other outings are presented each year by the more than four hundred thousand (400,000) faith-based organizations in the country. Asking congregations to sponsor individuals by paying their way to come is the next logical step for all who are interested in outreach that works," adds Smith.
The Evangelism Tickets Strategy can be embraced and implemented by virtually every church and faith-based organization. It is a strategy initiated locally, supported by local congregations for the benefit of neighbors and friends to attend their own events. The average man or woman in the pew, traditionally reticent to participate in outreach, now has a tool that can be used without fear or extensive training.
Faith-based groups who embrace the strategy and designate 10% of their admissions for outreach can sell them on-line for free at http://EvangelismTickets.com "Think of us as Ticketmaster with a cause", Smith says.
EvangelismTickets.com is headquartered in Houston, Texas where the company was launched in July of 2004 after three years of research and development.
