Dutchmen Manufacturing, Inc. Becomes the First Recreation Vehicle Manufacturer to Receive NATM Certification

Dutchmen Manufacturing, Inc. announces today that it is the first recreation vehicle manufacturer to receive compliance certification by the National Association of Trailer Manufactures. (NATM).

According to Richard W. Florea, President of Dutchmen Manufacturing, Inc., “The towing safety and construction quality of our products is just as important to us as the floorplan design and feature content. We are pleased to be the first RV manufacturer to receive NATM certification. In addition to the RVIA and CSA certifications, the NATM certification assures customers that they are purchasing one of the best built and safest products in the industry.”
To receive certification, NATM members have passed a stringent audit verifying that they build quality trailers meeting Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. (FMVSS) These standards cover certification labels, tires & wheels, brake components, lighting, reflectors, under ride protection and cargo payload issues. In addition, NATM certified trailers meet and exceed accepted industry manufacturing standards and practices covering safety chains, couplers, electrical components, warning labels and consumer information.
The NATM was founded in 1987 to represent manufacturers that produce light and medium duty trailers. The association is organized to promote, both to the industry and to the public, a universal recognition of safety and quality in the trailer manufacturing industry. Since its inception, NATM has worked to improve the trailer industry through the promotion of compliance with Federal Safety Regulations and selected industry standards.
