GL Releases BRI Phone Simulator (BPS)

Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA – September 15, 2007 – GL Communications Inc. announced today the release of their latest product BRI Phone Simulator (BPS). Addressing the press conference, Mr. Rob Bichefsky, Senior Manager of Product Development at GL said, “The BRI Phone Simulator (BPS) converts GL's DCOSS into a BRI ISDN Terminal Phone Simulator. The BPS can simulate a bank of up to 128 BRI telephones (terminal side), each supporting one D-channel and two B-channels. Using a basic DCOSS with E1 PRI ISDN trunks along with a BPS external box, the DCOSS BPS may be used to test a BRI Network”. He added, “All functionality currently associated with the DCOSS, including bulk calling, scripting, and remote client/server, may be used to control the BPS external ports. Also, all traffic supported by the DCOSS (Fax, Modem, Voice Files, DTMF/MF Digits, and Frequency Tones) is also fully supported by the DCOSS BPS device”.

Mr. Rob Bichefsky further added, “The DCOSS connects to the BPS via a PRI ISDN E1 trunk and calls are generated to the BPS using the DCOSS GUI. Each digital call signifies BRI Phone off hook with DTMF/MF dialed digits from the BPS. Both outgoing and incoming BRI calls are supported. The connection to the BPS is via a standard RJ-45. Each of the BRI Digital ports (up to 8 per BPS, maximum of 128 ports per DCOSS system) serve as an independent BRI telephone, which can be individually configured and activated for various telephony tasks”.

DCOSS APS (Analog Phone Simulator
)
The DCOSS APS (Analog Phone Simulator) converts a GL DCOSS into an analog phone simulator that simulates a bank of up to 384 analog telephones. Using a basic DCOSS with T1 trunks along with the APSCB24/48 external boxes, the DCOSS APS may be used to test a Central Office (CO), PBX, Gateway, or other telecommunications equipment, which provide local loop interfaces.
