CdG Carioca da Gema, the line of Brazilian designer Flavia Merecci showed a preview of the must anticipated Spring 2008 Collection. The line, once known by the unique exclusive couture swimwear, evolved to a full line that includes not only dresses but also exclusive handbags produced with an ancient fiber of the Amazon Rainforest and is bringing environment to a new level of high fashion.
The collection presented at Fashion Fest 2007 was inspired by the turn of the century icon Madame Vionnet and featured a series a chic silk cocktail numbers and flowy dresses that emphasize draping. The origami-like quality of the pieces produced shapes of cascade fabric, hugging the body and creating a wrapped, pleated, sleek, simple silhouette that speaks volume; a series of party dresses that are soft, unpretentiously sexy with a hint of retro.
CdG line is available for retailers at Showroom 77.
