THE FIRST NEW BUILDING IN DUDLEY SQUARE IN DECADES,A SYMBOL OF THE “NEW ROXBURY”

RIBBON CUTTING/OPEN HOUSE ON JUNE 24

WHAT:
Central Boston Elder Services (CBES), a private non-profit corporation dedicated to helping elders remain in their homes, has relocated to a state-of-the-art building in Dudley Square, Roxbury. This $9.6 million dollar building is a cornerstone in the Mayor’s plans to revitalize Roxbury (the geographic center of Boston), and the Dudley Square area in particular (called the “heart & soul of Roxbury”). As part of the festivities, all are invited to meet the staff and learn more about the growing CBES organization. CBES was founded in 1974 and currently has almost 100 employees who help over 3,700 Boston elders live with dignity each month.

As part of the ribbon cutting, there will be an interfaith blessing of the building, as there was for the groundbreaking.

And, as featured in the Legacy Cookbook, CBES’ 2004 collection of family recipes from some of Boston’s best chefs and restaurants, the following culinary delights from these and other participating restaurants and caterers:
