MTC Joins EPA's Climate Leaders List

Bedford Hills, NY, September 7, 2007 – As part of its commitment to sustainable practices, MTC Limousine & Corporate Coach, Inc. (www.mtclimousine.com), one of the largest privately owned, chauffeured ground transportation companies in the United States, announced today that it has joined the Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Leaders Partnership program. As a Climate Leaders partner, MTC has voluntarily agreed to become a key component in the country’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by developing a corporate-wide GHG inventory and setting an aggressive emissions reduction goal.

“We all have a responsibility to the environment and to our children and future generations,” said Trevor Franklin, MTC President. “We want to demonstrate that companies can be profitable while committing to the environment, and we hope that our example will inspire others to participate.”

Along with joining the EPA’s Climate Leaders Partnership, MTC has implemented a comprehensive program that reduces their impact on the environment. By increasing vehicle fuel efficiency, switching to low-carbon fuels, reducing vehicle miles traveled, and optimizing vehicle choice, the company is reducing the net effect of their fleet emissions to zero by the end of this year. With typical high-volume corporate livery vehicles generating up to 50 tons of CO2 in a year, Franklin is helping other ground transportation companies establish similar environmentally proactive programs.
