Hoppy Times September/October 2007 "Online" Edition - Volume 14 Issue 5

SACRAMENTO, CA - With the distribution landscape in constant flux, Saccani Distributing Company, a locally owned independent distribution company in Sacramento since 1933, recently added Hoppy Brewing to its portfolio of microbreweries. Saccani believes in supporting microbreweries - especially local ones, and felt Hoppy was a natural choice to be included in their portfolio. Ironically, Hoppy has been in Sacramento for over eight years, and one could wonder why Hoppy and Saccani have never matched up in the past. According to Ms. Terri Burch, Hoppy's Sales Representative, we are extremely excited about working with Saccani. We are looking forward to growing Hoppy to another level with the guys at Saccani, and fortunately there is a time and place for everything - which means that sometimes it just takes a while for the dust to settle when you are constantly plowing fields… ;)

Saccani covers 21 counties and has 17 sales reps in the field covering all of northern and north eastern California. Therefore, if you have been unable to purchase Hoppy in places like Chico in the past - Hoppy is now available. Please let your local retailer and/or friend(s) know that they too can now get Hoppy.

HOPPY DINNER MENU…

SACRAMENTO, CA - During the month of August, Hoppy introduced updated Lunch and Brunch menus. Some of the Lunch items were: half salad options, turkey Gouda on telera bread sandwich, peppered "New York Style" hot pastrami, and a coconut shrimp appetizer. Some of the Brunch items were: a Granola dish, the ability to add fresh strawberries, bananas, or both to any item, a Cajun salmon & eggs (yum yum), a crab benedict, and pesto omelet. Brunch is served both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am until 3:30pm.

All of the new items have been received with raving reviews, which makes you wonder why it took so long for them to find their way to the menu… ;)

The Dinner menu updates are: a roasted whole garlic appetizer, a half Jamaica jerk chicken, Mahi Mahi tacos with marinated cabbage and avocado aioli, along with rosemary chicken pasta with button mushrooms. The new Dinner items will be available starting on Tuesday, September 04th.

HOPPY HAS FREE WIRELESS!!!

SACRAMENTO, CA - Are you a member of a Fantasy Football Group, and looking for a place to check your stats during football season??? In addition, are you self-employed or work out of your home and are looking for a place to conduct a mid-afternoon meeting, or are you a student and need to get some homework done??? If so, feel free to stop in at Hoppy for a cold brew or two, a light lunch, or some appetizers, and make use of our FREE wireless network. Just ask your server, or bartender, for the WEP key address, connect to HoppyFREEWireless, and you will be good to go. As an additional bonus, students receive half off appetizers Monday through Friday from 2:00 to 5:00pm with a valid student ID, which means studying is not so bad with a cold beer in your hand… :)

Our brewpub is open daily during the week at 11:00am serving some of the best valued Lunches, Dinners, and Daily Specials in the area, and on weekends at 10:00am serving Brunch until 3:30 followed by Dinner at 4:30. We are always looking forward to sharing our day with our valued customers. HOPPY UPCOMING EVENTS!!!

Today, Saturday, September 01st at 11:00am, yes it is once again time for Hoppy's Acoustic Bluegrass Brunch featuring The Spillit Quikkers (aka TSQ)! The Spillit Quikkers will be featuring their brand of acoustic bluegrass from 11:00am until 1:00pm.

If you have yet to see TSQ, stop reading this "now" and come down to check them out. As usual Hoppy has no cover, is family friendly, serves a tasty Brunch, has Hoppy Hour beer prices until 3:00pm, along with $5.00 top-shelf Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's, and offers one of the coolest places to see live music in town on a Saturday morning.


*** HOLIDAY ALERT ***
On Monday, September 03rd, Hoppy will be having its regular Holiday $3.25 pint and $11.00 pitcher beer special to celebrate Labor Day - plus Brunch starting at 10:00am with $5.00 top-shelf Bloody Mary's & Mimosa's until 3:30pm. We will also be more than our normal child friendly brewpub that day by offering a kids eat FREE meal for children 12 and under with an adult meal purchase - within reason.

For those intrigued by "trivia", each Tuesday night, from 10:00-10:30pm, Ms Jennifer Rembert & Ms Lacy Bennett put together 20 questions for those in attendance to answer - topics are spread evenly across the universe. The game can be played as an individual, or in teams, with prizes varying each week as to what the winner(s) get. Therefore, with Lacy reading the questions, Jennifer grading the contestants, and with Hoppy Hour prices, what better way to get a little education on a Tuesday night… :)

Also, do not forget that pizza is available until 10:00pm as well.

Saturday, September 08th - El Dorado Hills Firefighters Association is hosting their 35th Annual Wine, Beer and Cheese event in El Dorado Hills. Also on that same day Hoppy will also be in Sonoma County in the great town of Healdsburg that day for "Beer in the Plaza" hosted by the Soroptimist Club of Healdsburg from 3:00-7:00pm. Friday, September 14th - Fair Oaks Chicken Festival in Old Town Fair Oaks Beer garden. Also on Friday is the "Taste of Sacramento" from 5:30-9:00pm at the Sacramento Convention Center.

Saturday, September 15th - The California Brewers Festival will be held from 1:00-5:00pm in Discovery Park. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and can be purchased online by visiting http://www.calbrewfest.org, or by contacting a member of Point West Rotary at 916-368-BREW. Come by for a tattoo and a beer - you will be glad you did!!!

Friday, September 21st - San Diego Festival of Beer 6:00-11:00pm. Hoppy will be in San Diego for this event. If you happen to be attending this event, look for Troy to be making an appearance… ;)

Saturday, September 22nd - Cruisin Calistoga Beer & Wine Festival & Car Show from 1:00-4:00pm at the Napa County Fair Grounds. The only thing this event is missing is a BBQ cook-off…

Tuesday, September 25th - WEAVE Event at the California Museum in Sacramento from 6:00-8:00pm.

Saturday, September 29th - Fair Oaks Brewfest from 1:00-5:00pm in Fair Oaks Park.

Finally, the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado is once again upon us from October 11th through the 13th. This is the BIG granddaddy of beer festivals in the craft-brew industry, with about 400 brewers and 1600 beers from around the country converging upon Denver to show off their latest brews. This festival draws about 20,000 people a day each year, and makes for one exciting time during the course of each evening's session.
