BCC Software Introduces ZIP FOURce Data-Enhancing Application
June 15, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Rochester, NY- BCC Software, a leading developer of high-performance software and solutions for professional mailers, announces the release of another data-quality resource that can help companies refine their existing data, streamline outreach efforts and save money. ZIP FOURce™, a new Applications Programming Interface (API) developed by BCC, helps minimize bad data by verifying addresses at the point of data entry through a comparison against official United States Postal Service® (USPS®) data files. The ZIP FOURce API can be easily integrated into most Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs or other systems programs that maintain address information. Programmers merely have to set up a data structure containing relevant address information and pass that data to the API, which then attempts to find a match (or near match) with USPS street address data files. If a match is found, a variety of useful information is returned to the calling program, including a properly spelled and abbreviated address, ZIP + 4 Code™, Postal Carrier Route and Delivery Point information. If a matching address cannot be found, ZIP FOURce returns information that helps determine why the address might be invalid.
ZIP FOURce offers benefits including improved point-of-entry data collection (via Web, telephone, in-person, or coupons), and can help its users reconnect with past customers who might have been lost due to bad address information. ZIP FOURce even provides useful demographic information, such as each contact’s Congressional district.
“Bad data is an often unnoticed and typically unmeasured financial drain on most companies and organizations,” said Ted Seward, BCC’s Vice President of Marketing. “The ZIP FOURce application is a linchpin solution to this problem. With it, companies can reduce undeliverable mail, save on shipping costs, and improve delivery speed and accuracy. Ultimately it helps help preserve and enhance customer relationships.”
ZIP FOURce is available as a Component Object Model (COM) or as a Dynamic Link Library (DLL).
