Pandora de Balthazar is pleased to open the Bybee Farmhouse

Pandora de Balthazar, long known for her fabulous collection of antique linens and European Sleep System pillows, is pleased to have the historic Bybee-Krause Farmhouse in Round Top available for clients and guests. “This is a wonderful house that is a perfect setting to showcase a portion of my extensive linen collection,” Pandora explains, “and it is also a beautiful way for clients or guests to spend the night on our exclusive Hungarian White Goose Down pillows, duvets and mattress pads.” Currently the house can accommodate up to six guests.

The farmhouse was the first property in Round Top owned by Charles and Faith Bybee, founders of the Texas Pioneer Arts Foundation which runs the Henkel Square Museum Village and Bybee Square, home to Pandora’s retail and design store in Round Top. “We are now located in two historic buildings in Round Top, The Ima Hogg house at Bybee Square, and now the Bybee Farmhouse. I feel as if I am completing a connection between these two visionary women in Round Top by operating a business in buildings that were special to each of them. How lucky can one be,” Pandora says with a smile.

The Bybee Farmhouse has several furniture pieces from the Bybee Collection, so clients and guests can enjoy selected pieces from two avid collectors – Faith Bybee and Pandora de Balthazar. The beds feature Pandora’s insistence on the infrastructure of the bed to insure the body is fully restored, refreshed and rejuvenated. This is achieved through the use of three large pillows in graduated size, a down mattress pad, down duvet and luxurious sheets. “All of our down is of the highest quality and loft, is hypo-allergenic and, unbelievable to many, machine washable,” she proudly stated.

Because the Texas Pioneer Arts Foundation has high regard for Pandora and her work to preserve antique linens, they have generously allowed her to furnish both the Bybee House and the Ima Hogg house with wonderful pieces from the Bybee Collection. When staying in the Bybee House guests will sit at antique Biedermeier tables, put their clothes in an antique Texas wardrobe, and have beautiful painted trunks in each room. Antique handwork is framed and showcased throughout the house from both the Bybee Collection and Pandora’s collection.

The Accommodations:
The beds: in the Master is a king, the front bedroom has a queen and single daybed, the main room has two twins, so the house can accommodate two couples or six women easily.

The large dining room has a wood-burning fireplace and a large table and bench so that a large group can gather for a conference, scrap booking, or a meal.
The large main room features two twin beds, two large chairs and a bench all dressed with the large European Sleep System pillows.
The room also has a smaller table for smaller meals, or break-out sessions for conferences.

There is a fully furnished kitchen for those wishing to take care of themselves.
There is a nice stone patio on the back for relaxing and eating al fresco and grilling.
