CapitalFusion Alternative Investments Planning The Launch Of The CapitalFusion Global ABS Opportunity Fund

CapitalFusion Alternative Investments (“CapFusion”) is planning to launch The CapFusion Global ABS Opportunity Fund in the 4th Quarter 2007, and is looking to hold a first close of the new offering in the 4th quarter of 2007.

The fund will take advantage of the current conditions in the capital markets as well as ongoing growth and development of global ABS opportunities. Given the size of the market, the fund will have enormous investment capacity, according to John Joshi, Managing Principal of CapFusion. The fund, which is in the preliminary marketing stage, will have an initial target size of about US$200 million to US$250 million.
CapFusion’s “Global ABS Ops Fund” is a “capital appreciation” vehicle that will invest in ABS and CDO assets affected by the illiquidity in the capital markets, Commercial Real Estate, Whole-loans and Structured Assets in US markets through secondary markets, and initial public offerings. The fund will also invest in opportunities in these asset classes in Europe and Asia as these markets develop. CapitalFusion believes that the broader structured finance market in Asia, particularly in India and China, are growing at a fast pace and present interesting arbitrage and value plays.
CapitalFusion Alternative Investments is joint venture between CapitalFusion Partners and a large US asset management company. The management team at CapFusion is made up of seasoned senior professionals with expertise in investing and managing ABS, RMBS, CMBS, Global Corporate Credit, and Structured Finance.
