New York, NY – August 27, 2007 - Johnny Oops, the principal character in a new novel called Johnny Oops has started a blog. It is absolutely a work of fiction. This make believe character is writing a series of short stories on his blog to promote a new novel if you can believe that. His author has encouraged him to do this as a way to promote the novel, find an agent, and get published. It isn’t often that you get a chance to meet a fictional character who is writing his own material. Johnny Oops has a wild imagination, and an over developed sex drive that sometimes seems to contradict his stated purpose of developing his own religion.
Johnny’s religion, Dialectic Materialism, preaches a philosophy of believing in a God that encourages the acquisition of material wealth, and touching other people in their essential parts as a way to join souls in a search for salvation and redemption.
These short stories concentrate on Johnny’s exploits when he isn’t serving as the principal character in the novel Johnny Oops, but his true character comes out as he confesses and details his tribulations as a former drunk, druggie, and womanizer.
Johnny leads us through a series of escapades with various women as he tries to self analyze himself. He is trying to determine if in fact he is a Guru, a Prophet, or a Charlatan. Sometimes he feels the virtue within him and marvels at how much promise he really has to change the world for the better, if only he can learn to change his sinful ways.
As the conflict between Johnny’s virtues and his desire to just have fun become to much for him to bare, he suffers a nervous breakdown, which almost destroys him, but he is resurrected by his flock of disciples who seem hell bent on keeping him as their Guru and the leader of their flock. Once fully recovered, he continues to blog articles that reveal the real feelings of a fictional character who wants to be a prophet, a guru, or at least a real human being.
