WARE MALCOMB AWARDED THE EASTLAKE CORPORATE CENTER OFFICE BUILDING PROJECT

Chula Vista, California – Ware Malcomb is a national design firm offering planning, architecture, interior design, graphic design and site development services to commercial real estate clients throughout the United States and Mexico. The firm’s San Diego office is proud to announce the award of the Eastlake Corporate Center Office Building located on Fenton Street & Otay Lakes Road in Chula Vista, California. The project is being developed by IRE Development of Chula Vista, California. IRE Development is a full service commercial real estate firm servicing the California border regions of Otay Mesa and Calexico, as well as the Eastlake area of San Diego County.

Ware Malcomb is providing architectural and interior design services for this 122,000 square foot, four-story, Class A speculative office building. The majority of the exterior design is reflective blue glass curtainwall, accentuated with brushed aluminum metal panels and tile cladding to provide varying textures and finishes. The two-story lobby and main entrance to the building are punctuated with a metal clad canopy extending into the public way. This feature creates a connection and continuity between the building and outdoor area, thus “welcoming the outside, in.” The entire site is covered in a lush landscaping and incorporates multiple public seating areas.

The San Diego office of The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company will serve as the General Contractor on the project. Construction is anticipated to start in the 4th quarter of 2007.
