CHICAGO’S HOTTEST NEIGHBORHOOD GETS COOL NEW RESIDENT

CHICAGO, IL (August 2007) – Residents in Chicago’s rapidly growing South Loop neighborhood have a new place to sate their sweet tooth. Marble Slab Creamery opened its first store in Chicago on August 9th at 1241 South Michigan Avenue across from Grant Park. The Creamery, which offers high quality, super-premium homemade ice cream and other sweet treats, is a sweet addition to an area that already carries an undeniable allure of culture and sophisticated tastes with world-class museums, luxury condominiums, restaurants and shopping within just steps of the store.

The Michigan Avenue Marble Slab plans to introduce itself to the neighborhood later this fall with a Grand Opening celebration and fundraising event. The creamery is teaming up with several local charities to raise funds in support of programs that benefit women’s health, job training, and spiritual growth. The charities will be selling Marble Slab ice cream cakes, pints and quarts to raise money, and will receive a portion of the sales earned during the Grand Opening event on October 6th. The day’s event will include fun activities, delicious treats, celebrity scoopers, and a special appearance by Slabby, the lovable ice cream cone mascot.
