Synchronica Opens Dubai Office
August 24, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Dubai, August 24, 2007. - Synchronica plc, international provider of mobile synchronization and device management solutions, has opened an office in Dubai to meet the burgeoning demand for its software in the Middle East, Africa (MEA) and the Indian subcontinent. The Dubai office is headed up by Regional Director and industry veteran Ayman Majzoub.Commenting on the decision to open an office in Dubai, Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica, said, "We are focusing very heavily on the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent because we believe that mobile email in the consumer sector will take off first in these areas, as opposed to in more developed countries. This is because these consumers rarely have access to a PC at home and may not even have a fixed line. For them, the mobile phone - which is fast becoming the primary communication channel in these regions - is a much more effective way of checking their business and personal emails than constantly having to visit internet cafes. Our Mobile Gateway mobile email solution allows them to do just that on any standard feature phone."
Brinkschulte continues: "We are getting a lot of interest in Mobile Gateway and in our Mobile Manager Backup and Restore solution from mobile operators and service providers in MEA and the Indian subcontinent and already have a mobile email customer in MTN Nigeria. By setting up an office in Dubai we feel that we are able to give the region the focus it clearly deserves."
Ayman Majzoub, Regional Director, Synchronica Middle East, Africa, and India, adds, "Mobile operators are increasingly on the look-out for innovative value-added services that help them generate new revenue streams, increase the average revenue per user, and reduce customer churn, and our solutions can help here. We see strong demand for a mobile email solution for the mass market in these regions, as well as for a backup and restore solution that safeguards consumers and business people from the worry of losing data stored on their phones in the event of the phone being lost or stolen."
Synchronica believes that the market for mass market mobile email in the Middle East and surrounding regions will grow rapidly over the next few years. According to a new report by market analysts Analysys on the Middle Eastern mobile market 2007-2012, total mobile service revenue is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 10 percent, from USD 22 billion in 2006 to USD 39.7 billion by the end of 2012.
Mobile Gateway 3.0 enables service providers to bring standards-based push email to the widest range of mobile devices on the market. Mobile Manager Backup and Restore enables mobile operators and Application Service Providers (ASPs) to generate additional, subscription-based revenue streams from consumers who want to know that the data stored on their mobile phones can be returned to them immediately in the event of their phones being lost or stolen.
