ENERGY CHALLENGE TESTS MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FITNESS; SUPPORTS FITARLINGTON’S FIGHT AGAINST CHILDHOOD OBESITY

Arlington, VA - Adventure seekers are signing up for a five mile test of skills, stamina and mental acuity as they compete in the “Energy Challenge” race September 15, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Two-person teams will test their physical and mental abilities along Shirlington’s Four Mile Run in this competitive race sponsored by The Energy Club, a premium health club located at 2900 S. Quincy Street, Arlington, VA in the Shirlington Retail Shopping Center. The race is in association with Urban Dare Productions.

“Today’s health and fitness conscious adults are really interested in enhancing their mind and body so they can enjoy life on their terms or compete at higher levels,” Rich Mandley, owner of The Energy Club said. “So what better way to test themselves than to respond to a five mile challenge that takes brains and physical effort to complete?”

The Energy Club is also supporting FitArlington, an Arlington County initiative to fight against childhood obesity by raising awareness about the benefits of physical activity and healthy lifestyles, with a donation of $20 from every team that participates in the Energy Club Challenge.

“This is just another way for The Energy Club to contribute our expertise in healthy lifestyles in a way that will benefit the children and adults in our Arlington community”, Mandley added.
