As a result of the continued world wide and European growth in video on demand, interactive TV and triple play and quadruple play markets, ODG has launched On Demand Recruitment, (ODR) a recruitment service for companies and executives in the sector.Robert Grainger who will lead the new division has over 12 years experience in recruitment, including search and selection and contingency work, having previously specialized in the consultancy and professional services market working closely with KPMG-Cisco in the late nineties helping them to build a team of digital TV and broadband consultants. From there he specialized in the Media & Communications sectors in VOD, IPTV and Pay TV.
Utilising ODG’s UK and international network of contacts, ODR have developed the “warm pool” concept with a team of industry specialist candidates that can be matched to the specific skills needs of client organizations as well as the candidate’s career development requirements. A key benefit of the warm pool approach is that having identified a resource need, companies can quickly pinpoint a selection of candidates that fit their brief.
The warm pool includes candidates with skill sets across the functions required by VOD, IPTV and Pay TV operators including content acquisition, programming, service management, marketing, IT, systems, project management and financial reporting. The pool is kept up to date by proactive headhunting, referrals and advertising, with regular contact with candidates providing up to date information about their current roles and future aspirations.
Robert Grainger commented; “ODG is an international leader in service provision in the fast growing VOD and pay TV markets and I am very pleased to be working with it on this exciting new venture. With cable companies, telcos, ISP’s, mobile operators and content companies moving into on demand entertainment, the new service will provide the focus on resource planning and recruitment that the sector needs.”
Tony Kelly, CEO ODG commented; “This is a natural development for ODG since we are increasingly being asked by our clients to fill gaps and recommend candidates for their organizations as they move into interactive TV and video on demand. Robert Grainger provides the experience in recruitment that matched with our industry and operating experience, can make this opportunity fly.”
