PokerNews.com (http://www.pokernews.com) is pleased to announce that it has been named the exclusive online media partner for the inaugural season of the PokerStars Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) (http://www.appt.com). Commencing with the first APPT event in Manila, Phillippines from August 24-26, PokerNews.com will be the only online media outlet providing detailed live tournament coverage from start to finish.

The APPT also has events planned for Seoul, Korea (September 28-30) and Sydney, Australia (December 13-16), with additional tournaments expected to be announced soon. PokerNews.com will be providing live real-time chip counts, tournament updates and video interviews with all the top poker professionals in attendance. As part of the agreement, PokerNews.com will also have live hand-for-hand reporting for each final table in our revolutionary hand simulator, where you can watch an animated replay of each hand.

PokerNews.com is also launching a world first in online poker tournament reporting, with coverage for all APPT events to be translated into both Chinese (at http://cn.pokernews.com) and Japanese (at http://jp.pokernews.com) in real-time. "We're extremely excited to be working with PokerStars to provide coverage of the first Asia-Pacific Poker Tour," says PokerNews Marketing Director Gareth Edwards. "We pride ourselves on being leaders in emerging poker markets, and hope our Chinese and Japanese readers enjoy seeing tournament updates in their own language for the very first time."

"PokerNews and the APPT are a great partnership", says Sarne Lightman, Director of Marketing for PokerStars Asia Pacific and co-founder, APPT. "The APPT is dedicated to bringing poker to Asia and, through their large network of sites and multilingual reporting, PokerNews will for the first time allow Asian fans to follow the action and their favorite players not only from the comfort of their own homes, but also in their own language."

The APPT announcement cements PokerNews.com's position as the leader in poker tournament reporting. PokerNews.com is also the official media partner of the Aussie Millions, and was named earlier this year as the official live update and chip count provider in conjunction with Bluff Magazine for the 2007 World Series of Poker, a deal which also includes the upcoming World Series of Poker Europe.
