Roy Jones Jr. to Join Tau Kappa Epsilon World-Renowned Boxer Joining World’s Largest Fraternity

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity is pleased to announce that it will initiate World-Renowned Boxer Roy Jones Jr. on Thursday, August 16, 9 PM in Pensacola. Jones’ name will be added to the long list of prominent men who have been members of TKE, including the late President Ronald Reagan, Former NAACP President Bruce Gordon, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, and Chrysler CEO Bob Nardelli.

Roy Jones Jr. has had a storied boxing career that continues in January with his next fight against Felix Trinidad, announced on Monday. Jones began his boxing prowess as an amateur in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea leaving with a controversial silver medal. He has gone on to hold titles for the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBF, IBO, NBA, and IBA light heavyweight championships, all at the same time. Jones was named the “Fighter of the Decade” for the 1990s by the Boxing Writers Association of America. He will put his professional record, 51-4, to the test as he contends against Felix Trinidad this winter.
