2007 ROYAL ESSENCE GRAND NATIONAL FINALS TO BE HELD IN NOVEMBER IN ANAHEIM, CA

Anaheim, CA – August 18, 2007 – The Royal Essence Pageant organization announced today that the Royal Essence Grand National Finals will be held at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel from Friday, November 2, through Sunday, November 4, 2007. The Royal Essence Pageant system is a competition for the entire family, from infants to adults.

The Royal Essence Pageant system was founded in 1987 by Director Rita Alaman. Every contestant walks away with a crown, a banner and numerous gifts, making it an uplifting experience for everyone. Cash is awarded on stage to overall Sweepstakes winners and the Mega Grand Supreme winner is awarded with a $5,000 U.S. Savings Bond. Judging for the Royal Essence pageant is based on an innovative system which rewards and encourages personal style and character development. Royal Essence delegates are intelligent, articulate, energetic and self-confident.

Rita recently was hired as a pageant consultant for the award winning movie "Little Miss Sunshine" Little Miss Sunshine is a 2006 Academy Award-winning dramatic comedy film about a family's road trip to a children's beauty pageant. The film was directed by the husband-wife team of Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and was produced by Big Beach Films for Fox Searchlight Pictures. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won two: Best Original Screenplay for Michael Arndt and Best Supporting Actor for Alan Arkin. Almost all of the pageant contestants and extras for the climactic final scene in the movie about the children’s pageant came from the Royal Essence pageant system, and Rita choreographed the pageant scene in the movie. Rita’s daughter Allie is featured as the first contestant on stage where the emcee sings to the contestants, and has appeared in nine national commercials.

Rita has been involved in pageants, charm, and modeling for over 30 years. As a wife, mother and pageantry professional, Rita takes personal pride in presenting a first class pageant system. The goal of the Miss Royal Essence pageant is to make every child feel special and like a Queen. No one goes away empty handed. The Royal Essence pageant is truly a family affair. Rita’s husband Leroy is the Master of Ceremonies at all of the pageants. Leroy is employed in management with Kaiser Hospital, and is also a motivational speaker and a counselor. Their daughter Allie is an energetic 11 year old who entertains at the pageants, and their son Matt is the DJ for all of the pageants, always providing upbeat, pre-censored music.
