PLATT COLLEGE SAN DIEGO EARNS 14 PRESTIGIOUS TELLY AWARDS – Media campaign receives two Silver Winner Statuettes and 12 Bronze Finalist Statuettes –

San Diego, CA, June 10, 2005 – Platt College San Diego, a leading provider of degree and diploma programs in Media Arts, Multimedia/Animation Design, Graphic Design, Digital Video Production and Web Design, announced today that it is the recipient of 14 Telly Awards for 2005. Awards were received for “Imagine That: Electric” and “Imagine That: Captivate” commercials, featuring student work that earned recognition for art direction, editing, use of animation, use of graphics and special effects.

The Telly Awards, one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, honored Platt College with two Silver Winner Statuettes and 12 Bronze Finalist Statuettes. Previous Telly Award winners include Sony Music, Miramax Films and Harpo Productions. Each Telly statuette is handmade by the craftsmen at RS Owens, the same firm that produces the Oscar and the Emmy Awards.

The “Imagine That: Electric” and “Imagine That: Captivate” commercial spots were produced by Platt College alumni Focalscape, Inc. with music composed by DHM Music Design; both of which are Advisory Board Members. The winning commercials are currently appearing on MTV, Comedy Central and Cartoon Network. The commercials are also shown at the AMC Mission Valley 20 Theatre in San Diego.

The Platt College commercials were among 10,000 other entrants for the 26th Annual Telly Awards, the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. Judges are former Telly Award winners who represent advertising agencies, TV stations, production houses, and corporate video departments. Entries are judged against a high standard of industry excellence.

The first commercial — “Imagine That: Electric” — received awards in the following categories: 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Art Direction; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Use of Graphics; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Editing; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Schools/Colleges/Universities; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Use of Animation; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Special Effects; and, 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Use of Music. Platt College’s second commercial — “Imagine That: Captivate” – received awards in the following categories: 2005 Silver Telly Winner for Art Direction; 2005 Silver Telly Winner for Editing; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Use of Graphics; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Schools/Colleges/Universities; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Use of Animation; 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Special Effects; and, 2005 Bronze Telly Finalist for Use of Music.
